Arise Mauritania is developing the Container Terminal at Nouakchott in a Public Private partnership with the Islamic Republic of Mauritania.

In the framework of this development, Arise Mauritania has called a tender for dredging works, with technical support from Egis International. The pre-qualified tenderers are due to submit their proposals mid-May’2020.

The works aims to deepen the nautical access to the Port of Nouakchott and more particularly to the new Nouakchott Container Terminal, under construction.

The Works comprise the clearance of about 3 million m3, including 1.8 million m3 in the channel and 1.2 million m3 in the port basin, as well as improvement to the aids to navigation. The works shall be taken up under the framework of IFC Environment and Social Management System.

This first stage will allow the arrival of 50,000 DWT container and hydro-carbon ships from 2021.
